NaNoWriMo Week One: Double Trouble

Am I crazy for attempting to write two novels at once? Of course I am, but who doesn’t like a surge of adrenaline or a double push to do something worthwhile?

Both stories are suspense, and the second story (the NaNoWriMo story) spotlights some characters from the first. Separate yet related. Don’t worry, I can do this!

I’m just the writer. My characters are the ones telling the stories. Keep it up, guys! You’re awesome!

  1. How on earth are you writing two novels at once?!

  2. It’s not too hard because the second story is flowing out of the first. For now, the nano story gets the most attention. I have taken a few minor characters from the first and am building a separate story for them. Both take place in the same town. I am actually finding it really helpful because the characters are movers and shakers, keeping me engaged and on track. The Nano story is just flowing out. For the first story, I did an outline and character sketch first. The characters are filling in the details. It’s been fun!
