“Their story isn’t finished.”
And They Danced by Tiffany Seitz packs quite the ghostly wallop that will both frighten and delight any reader who loves a bit of instant attraction and an out of the ordinary family mixed with plenty of paranormal chills and thrills.
Tess Corona is fresh out of the military and tight-lipped about her service and is now living with her twin brother, Laz, in Fort Worth Texas, along with his three-year-old daughter, Tila, and their grandmother, Gram.
Texas Ranger Crock Ward is ready to get back to work after sustaining a gunshot wound to the leg and dives right into a cold case that will end up being far more exciting than he ever imagined. The notoriously haunted Crown Hotel is the site of the unsolved murder of Esme Green twenty years ago. When her husband, Dan, is found dead in the same hotel room, Crock employs the help of Laz Corona and his paranormal investigative crew to help him solve both the new and old cases. What he doesn’t bargain for is Laz’s odd family as part of the deal, especially his twin sister, Tess, with her preternatural ability to feel and see paranormal activities, her enigmatic personality, and her natural beauty.
And They Danced is an extraordinary combination of a suspenseful plot and dynamic characters, both spiritual and corporeal. Add in some humor and spine-tingling danger, and this story quickly becomes a definite page turner that you never want to end. The good news is that this is book one in this paranormal series, so more excitement is on the horizon. On the romance front, while Tess and Crock experience an immediate attraction, love is not quite in the air just yet. The infatuation is sweet, but rather than taking center stage, it is overshadowed somewhat by everything else going on in this very entertaining story.
While the main ghostly mystery is eventually solved, with Esme and Dan Green at peace and once more dancing together for all eternity, some things remain unexplored and unfinished for the main characters, setting the stage for the next book. A major theme in And They Danced is most definitely family and all the love and belligerence that go along with it. Stoic Texas Ranger Crock Ward has no idea what to make of the eccentric Corona family and their strange antics, but one thing is clear. He’s all in, and not just to solve the Green case but because Gram makes some killer brownies, and Tess is well on her way to disrupting his orderly life and stealing his heart. Family can be messy, but the love is strong with all the families in this remarkable story, including the Corona family, Crock and his little sister, and even the ethereal Dan and Esme Green. Familial love flows freely, even when a tornado hits and a vengeful ghost jumps in and tries to derail everything. The excitement just never stops with this one, so mark this series as a must read, and pick up Book 1, And They Danced, today!
