A Matter of Trust is a non-stop thrill ride in the wintry Montana Mountains. Susan May Warren is a master of characterization and description, and the writing style and dramatic plot will draw you in and keep you on the edge of your seat.
A Matter of Trust has many characters, but following their lives becomes effortless as you navigate their personalities, back stories, and relationships. You can read the books in the series in sequence, but this one can definitely stand alone. The characters are engaging, and the drama throughout is gripping and full of revelations, tense moments, and courageous rescues. While some of these rescues take place on the snowy mountainside, a few other “rescues” involve forgiveness, honesty, and, of course, trust.
I know next to nothing about skiing or snowboarding or pretty much anything to do with snow, but the author describes the scenery and action so beautifully that you can almost feel the chill of the wind and snow as the main characters, Gage and Ella, race down Heaven’s Peak to rescue Ella’s brother and his friend. As the title implies, trust is the main theme: trust in each other, trust in oneself, and trust in God.
Hang on because A matter of Trust is a wild jaunt of daring and self discovery as many of the characters let go of their secrets and open their hearts to truth, acceptance, and trust. I am definitely adding more of Susan May Warren’s books to my to-read list.
